Today Benjamin visited the Pantheon. He really enjoyed walking around on the beautiful floors and smiling at all the other visitors.
The Pantheon is a circular building (originally a temple to all pagan gods) that has stood for more than 2000 years and is the most complete example of Roman architecture on earth. The Pantheon contains the largest masonry dome in the world and is topped by an oculus, a hole designed to let light in.
There have been rumors that the oculus is designed in such a way that when it rains or snows the floor will not get wet. This was disproved today as it was raining when we visited and the floor was indeed wet below the oculus.
